Biography

Jill Earnshaw is Senior Lecturer in Employment Law and Dean of UMIST. She is also a part-time Chairman of Employment Tribunals and for five years was a member of the Employment Tribunals` training panel, devising training programmes for Employment Tribunal Chairmen.

Jill`s research interests lie in legal issues surrounding sexual harassment and workplace stress. She is co-author of the leading publication on workplace stress: Stress and Employer Liability and has contributed a number of articles to the New Law Journal. She is author of Who is the Employer? for the Institute of Employment Rights. Jill has undertaken a number of research projects funded by the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department for Education and Science, the Economic and Social Research Council and the European Regional Development Fund on subjects which include: recruitment, disciplinary and grievance procedures, the operation of teacher capability procedures and `the future of work`.
