Biography
Elaine Heslop is a solicitor, trainer and member of the JSB Employment Law Faculty. She qualified in 1985 after pursuing careers as a teacher, a local government personnel officer and a community education administrator.
After a short spell in private practice she moved to Islington Law Centre specialising in employment and education law. Elaine is now Legal Director of the Centre.
Elaine is an experienced advocate and advises and represents applicants in employment tribunals and at the Employment Appeal Tribunal. She sits on the management committee of the Employment Lawyers Association as the voluntary sector representative.
Elaine lectures to a range of groups, including HR executives, on employment and education law. She co-lectures on the Legal Action Group`s employment law course, and at the London Metropolitan University on the solicitors` Legal Practice Course and the MA in Advice and Paralegal Work.
