Flávia is a senior member of Veirano Advogados labor practice. Based in Rio de Janeiro, Flávia has practiced labor law for over a decade with a focus on assisting clients in diverse industries such as banking, oil and gas, professional services, and energy with their labor issues, from providing legal advice in complex matters to union negotiations to labor litigation. Her Labor practice includes advising clients on various legal challenges including the labor aspects of corporate transactions (including M&A due diligence), negotiation of employment agreements, regularization of expatriate employees, executive compensation, variable compensation (stock and other options, incentive plans and profit sharing), and cross-border transfer of employees both into and out of Brazil.
Flávia also assists clients to build their compliance programs, conduct compliance investigations, draft ethics, conduct and sexual harassment policies, use of work tools policies (computer, internet, phone, expectation of privacy), and preparation of employee training to introduce and implement policies.
Flávia’s litigation experience includes defending employers in the labor court and before government agencies such as the Ministry of Labor. Ms. Azevedo participated in an internship at the ICCR (Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility) in 2009, where she assisted in advising ICCR members in their role as investors to engage in sustainable practices.
In addition, in 2009/2010, after completing her LLM at Colombia Law School, Flávia worked as an International Visiting Attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. Chambers of Commerce and Associations.
