Issue

Our client, a leading global real estate service provider listed on the London Stock Exchange, has a requirement to fine tune managers’ understanding of its performance management processes and skills following the introduction of a new appraisal system. The aim is to ensure greater consistency of approach in managing performance across the various parts of the business.

Our approach

Our research into the client requirement results in the design of a one-day workshop for up to 12 people. After a successful pilot, all people managers in the division are trained and follow-up evaluations carried out.The facilitated workshops allow for a full sharing of experience of performance management practices and valuable discussions of how best practices can be adopted and implemented. Working on tailored case studies using real-life scenarios, and practising keys skills, enhances practical learning.

The outcome

This intensive, interactive workshop ensures all managers are equipped to apply a consistent approach to managing performance and providing feedback within the context of the organisation’s own performance management system. Managers understand the principles of, and their role in, performance management. They learn how to read the signs of, and manage, high and low performance. They understand how to plan, structure and deliver performance reviews and how to put it all into practice using appropriate interpersonal skills. Their personal action plans enable them to carry the learning forward.
