Benefits

- Hone key skills and behaviours to influence others
Issue
Our client was sourcing personal development for a disparate group of managers with different needs and levels of self-awareness which would take into account individual requirements and objectives. Participants needed to build self-awareness in terms of how they portrayed themselves in a range of settings and also to acquire effective strategies and techniques for dealing with different personalities.
Our approach
We designed a flexible structure spanning a 10-week period. This included one-to-one coaching sessions, meetings with each participant, meetings with each participant`s manager to understand the working environment and the manager`s perceptions of the participant, and workshops to develop skills.
The one-to-one coaching sessions helped us to ascertain individual development by investigating blocks and barriers, raising awareness and developing personal goals and solutions. Each workshop was highly interactive, including consultant feedback, group work, questionnaires case studies, role-play and practical exercises.
The outcome
Our client was delighted that the timings of the sessions enabled participants to put what they had learned to practical use, before moving onto the next area of development. This allowed our consultant to offer effective feedback as the training progressed, ensuring that all objectives were achieved. Interactive group sessions helped to increase each participant’s level of business awareness and gave them a greater understanding of the day-to-day problems facing the other participants. Participants benefited from the range of the interventions undertaken and from the flexible format that enabled our consultant to include a range of different learning styles.
