Personal Impact Toolkit
Benefits
- Improve individual and organisational performance
- Improve communications and relationships
Issue
We were asked to undertake the design and implementation of a Personal Impact Toolkit for managers and staff with diverse roles and experience, and varying commitment to the developmental process.
Our approach
We designed and facilitated the launch event for all participants. We offered the participants self-select modules including: Influencing skills and strategies, Note taking and business writing, Assertive communications, Project and management skills and Presentations. Our approach, which included use of learning logs and personal action plans, enabled participants to build competence over each module, experiment with newly acquired skills on future modules and provide feedback to each other and develop relationships. Managers were fully involved in contributing information, recognising development needs and identifying opportunities for practice.
The outcome
We successfully managed to integrate learning back in the workplace with the development of internal working groups and networks which continued to knowledge share on completion of the modules. Communications and relationships have improved across the organisation and managers are transferring their enhanced performance management and coaching skills into other projects and situations.
