Issue

Following expansion into Ireland, our UK-based client required an overview of the employment law framework operating in this region. The participants, HR specialists, needed to understand the key issues to be aware of, particularly in the areas of statutory notice, redundancy and employee transfer and discrimination.

Our approach

Our trainer, a practising solicitor specialising in Irish employment law, delivered an intensive half-day programme. The format was highly interactive with an opportunity for Q&A throughout. Participants were provided with clear advice and guidance on how the law is applied. The session content was delivered through a case-study led approach and included pre-employment/equality issues, terms and conditions of employment, statutory leave entitlements, dismissals/redundancies and trade unions as well as health and safety and information on latest case law.

The outcome

Participants left with a sound understanding of key elements of Irish employment law, relevant to their company’s current operations in Ireland. They now have a greater understanding of the differences in the law and returned to their roles with the confidence to ensure compliance of their policies and procedures. Importantly, the training provided an opportunity to discuss points of concerns with an expert.
