JSB has launched the latest in its series of country-by-country legal seminars, designed specifically for Human Resource professionals with international responsibility. “Employment Law China” is facilitated by top pan-Asian law firm Orrick and offers a highly practical approach to essential employment law and practice in the fastest growing economy in the world.
Within the next ten years, China will be the second largest economy in the world. It is already providing enormous opportunities for British and international companies which can embrace the legal, cultural and business challenges. Understanding the employment scene in China and the legal context in which international companies must operate, is a key factor for personnel professionals involved in recruiting and managing staff in this fascinating and diverse country.
Elizabeth Cole, “Employment Law China” seminar leader and Partner at Orrick, comments: “The new Labour Contract Law was passed only last week and will have a significant impact on companies operating in China. Anyone doing business in China really needs to be familiar with this vitally important piece of new legislation.”
This highly original seminar, in Central London, on 12-13 November will clarify the legislative framework and latest legal developments in China. It will also address the practical aspects of managing a cross-cultural workforce, and provide participants with an accurate understanding of critical Chinese employment issues to consider when setting up and maintaining operations in China.
JSB’s Employment Law Faculty Head and Managing Director, Paul Secher said: “JSB has extensive experience of developing and delivering highly successful training in international employment law. We are delighted to be able to bring together leading experts in the field to help HR professionals and their employers to maximise the opportunities and avoid the pitfalls of doing business in China.”
