Recruitment and Immigration – The New Rules
14th March 2008

The introduction of the Points Based System (PBS) constitutes the most significant change to the system of Immigration the UK has ever seen.

It is essential that Employers (Sponsors) become entirely familiar with the new system, their duties as well as the decision-making criteria of the Border and Immigration Agency (BIA). JSB offers in-house training to address all relevant aspects of the new system and their practical application, as well as issues specific to your organisation. Such a session would be expected to cover the following key topics:

  • Current position including background and implementation timetable for Points Based System
  • Concept of Sponsorship (Tier 2 (General and ICT) and applying for a Licence
  • Sponsor Register – including roles, BIA decision-making and Sponsor’s duties
  • Sponsor sanctions
  • Tier 2 criteria including the issuing of Certificates of Sponsorship
  • Preventing illegal working
  • Summary of Best Practice
  • Q&A addressing remaining concerns

This sample programme is designed as a half-day training and consultancy session. For details of how this could be tailored to suit your organisational requirements, call +44 (0)20 8371 7017.

JSB also offers a 2-day Managing Workforce Mobility conference running on 24-25 July. See further details here.
