Organisational restructure: almost half of reorganisations fail to achieve the desired improvements
15th April 2008

Reorganisations and restructures are now commonplace in most organisations. Market forces and technological innovation are but two of the factors driving business change. Although organisational change is difficult to achieve and, if handled badly, can have disastrous consequences, businesses are increasingly looking to restructuring projects to maintain competitive advantage in a tough climate. Indeed, for most organisations change is a constant.

A CIPD survey of 800 managers showed that almost half of reorganisations fail to achieve the desired improvements, and in two-thirds of reorganisations there is no improvement in employee performance or well-being. Also, 60% of programmes are not completed and 40% are not completed to budget.

It is clear that HR professionals are key to ensuring the long-term business success of reorganisations and restructurings. And to do this effectively they must become more broad and strategic in their outlook and influence by equipping themselves with the skills and knowledge to manage reorganisations, restructurings and redundancies successfully. JSB's two day seminar Managing Reorganisations, Restructurings and Redundancies , with flexible booking options, provides just the opportunity - discover how to deal with the employment law and/or change management issues of organisational restructures!
