Isabel Manley
Isabel Manley BA LLM is an experienced JSB trainer/consultant specialising in employment law. She qualified as a solicitor in 1985 with most of her employment and discrimination practice in the voluntary sector, advising and representing claimants. She made numerous appearances in employment tribunals and in the County Court and Employment Appeal Tribunal. She now sits as a salaried Employment Judge in Watford. Isabel has been involved in both teaching and writing. She edited and contributed to Advising Clients with HIV and Aids (Butterworths 2000) and is one of the authors of Discrimination in employment - Law and Practice (2007) and co-author of Employment Tribunals – A Practical Guide (2004 - second edition due 2008), both published by the Law Society. Isabel is an Associate of the Institute of Development and Labour Law at the University of Cape Town where she regularly teaches comparative labour law as part of a masters degree. She is a member of the management committee of Islington Law Centre and the Industrial Law Society.
Sarah Christie
Ms Christie is a Judge on the World Bank Administrative Tribunal. She is an arbitrator, mediator and trainer in employment law and dispute resolution and is an associate of the Institute of Development and Labour Law in the Law Faculty at the University of Cape Town. Ms Christie is a senior commissioner of the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration and serves on various dispute resolution panels in the private and public sectors in South Africa. She has consulted to a number of public international organisations including the International Monetary Fund, the World Health Organization, the United Nations and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on their internal justice and dispute resolution systems.
