In brief:
Coaching can be one of the most rewarding and challenging elements of our role. Unlike many other functions it is often its organic nature which sets it apart from many other functions and interventions. Some of the most effective coaching is where neither coach nor coachee has any idea at the start of a session where the dialogue will lead. Rather it is in the very focused dialogue made possible by presence, openness and attention to what emerges in the moment which leads to real awareness and insight: something rarely possible in planned, overly-structured or solution - focussed sessions.
To work effectively in this way coaches need the skills and confidence to work phenomenologically – to observe “what is” and to help the coachee to develop their own self awareness. They also need to address sufficiently the organisational, team and individual context impacting on a coachee at any given time.
A Gestalt approach to coaching includes these essential elements in its model and in its approach. This half day, practical workshop provides key insights to enable you to develop your coaching capability.Part of the day will be run as a real time “live supervision” where you will be able to bring current challenges and issues, on which you will be given real-time feedback, advice and guidance from JSB’s coaching expert, Diane Hodgson.
This event is CPD accredited.
