I provide advice to local and multinational companies in all areas of labour and social security law. I specialise in the execution and termination of agreements with senior executive managers, as well as contractual and remuneration issues and in labour issues arising in all types of commercial transactions. I also provide advice in negotiation, drafting, interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements and have broad experience in collective dismissals, industrial conflicts and litigation before the labour courts in all kinds of proceedings. I also provide advice on sport law to sportsmen in their contract negotiations and disputes, as well as to clubs, agents and sport associations.
Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, I worked for 9 years in Uría Menéndez and led the employment practice in Bird & Bird and Olswang’s Madrid offices.
Further, I am a Professor of Law (employment law) at the Instituto de Empresa Business School. I am also a regular speaker in international seminars and webminars about Spanish employment law.
I am an active member of the Spanish Employment Lawyers Association (FORELAB) and of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA).
I have a joint degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad San Pablo CEU de Madrid. I've also done the Programme on Employment Relations at the Escuela de Práctica Jurídica de la Universidad Complutense and a Master on Sports Law from the Universidad San Pablo CEU de Madrid.
Maria Eugenia specialises in contentious and non-contentious employment matters with an emphasis on execution and termination of agreements with ordinary employees and senior executives, contractual and remuneration issues and employment matters relating to company mergers and acquisitions. She also has experience in collective dismissals and industrial conflicts, in disciplinary procedures and in conducting legal audits on employment related issues.
Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Maria worked in Olswang, Bird & Bird and Uría Menéndez, where she also gained experience in competition and commercial litigation issues.
Mª Eugenia is a professor of Labour and Social Security Law at IE University, where she lectures in English. She also participates regularly in seminars, webinars and conferences as an expert in employment law and publishes articles in specialised books, magazines and websites.
Maria Eugenia holds a joint degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where she collaborated with the Employment and Social Security Department during her last year as a student. She has also coursed the Advanced Programme on Employment Relations at the IE Business School and the first year of the doctorate programme in Employment, Industrial Relations and Social Dialogue in Europe at the University of Castilla la Mancha.
She speaks Spanish, English and French.

The most valuable form of learning delivery continues to be the face-to-face classroom-based event. Engaging with expert speakers and fellow participants in relaxed two-way discussion in a distraction-free environment offers a valuable and practical learning experience.
All JSB programmes take place in top venues in central London and participants report that they greatly value the opportunities that these events provide for learning and networking.
We frequently welcome participants from overseas to our London events. However, we recognise that HR professionals who are responsible for managing workforces in these countries will not always be able to make the financial and time investment necessary to attend JSB events when they run in London. You will have the opportunity to submit questions to the speaker throughout the event and will get access to the slides and documentation in exactly the same way as those in the room. All you need is a standard domestic broadband connection.
Should you find that you can’t wait until the next event on your chosen topic, you can access a full recording of a recent live event. Again, full slides and documentation will be provided. This is an option for those who cannot attend an event on a particular day. Moreover if the learning is to be of practical value it is often the case that even those who participated on the day welcome the opportunity of accessing the material in the weeks and months following the event. It’s a great way to share content with colleagues too.
